Why Join
As an Investor Relations Specialist at OCBC, you'll play a key role in shaping the bank's reputation and building trust with investors, analysts, and the wider financial community. You'll be part of a dynamic team that communicates the bank's strategy, performance, and vision to the market, and helps to drive business growth.
How you succeed
To succeed in this role, you'll need to develop a deep understanding of the bank's business, financial performance, and industry trends. You'll work closely with senior management, finance, and communications teams to craft compelling investor narratives, manage stakeholder relationships, and provide insightful analysis to support informed decision-making.
What you do
The Investor Relations function sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, capital markets and communications. Reporting to the Head of Investor Relations, this role supports the development and communication of OCBC’s investment proposition, helping the investment community understand the Group’s performance, strategy and long-term value creation. It also plays a crucial role in bringing an external market perspective to support senior management decision-making. Acting as a trusted bridge between OCBC and investors, analysts and credit rating agencies, the role supports fair and transparent disclosure, strengthens market confidence, and contributes to sustainable shareholder value creation.
Strategic Advisory & Market Positioning
Shape and communicate a clear, credible and compelling investment narrative aligned with OCBC’s strategic priorities and long-term value creation objectives.
Support senior management with insights and recommendations relating to investor sentiment, market expectations, valuation drivers, industry and peer developments as well as emerging market issues.
Bring an external investor market lens into strategic discussions relating to capital allocation, shareholder value creation, strategic priorities and narrative positioning, helping management anticipate stakeholder concerns and market reactions.
Drive initiatives to broaden and diversify OCBC’s shareholder base through investor targeting, shareholder analysis and proactive engagement across investor types and geographies.
Investor & Capital Markets Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with equity & fixed income institutional investors, sell-side analysts, rating agencies and other capital-market stakeholders.
Lead the planning and execution of results briefings, investor conferences, non-deal roadshows, investor days and targeted engagement initiatives.
Prepare senior management for investor interactions through high-quality briefing materials, messaging and market intelligence.
Support engagement with investors on OCBC’s sustainability strategy, ESG priorities and related disclosures
Financial Communication & Market Intelligence
Lead preparation of earnings materials, investor presentations, Q&A documents, selected annual report content and other market-facing communications.
Prepare internal presentation materials and briefing papers for Management Committee and the Board on a regular basis, including peer comparisons, shareholder-flow analysis and valuation insights.
Monitor market developments, peer disclosures, shareholder movements and investor feedback.
Translate complex financial, strategic and operational developments into clear and actionable insights for both management and external stakeholders.
Strategic & Financial Analysis
Perform and/or oversee analysis of financial performance, valuations, capital allocation, industry trends and competitive positioning on OCBC’s businesses (eg. Wealth Management, Global Wholesale Banking etc).
Develop analytical frameworks and insights to support management understanding of market perception and shareholder value drivers.
Monitor analyst models and valuation frameworks to manage consensus expectations and guide market understanding of OCBC’s earnings drivers and strategy
Leverage market intelligence and consensus expectations to help management anticipate areas of potential divergence between market expectations and business performance.
Leverage data analytics and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to enhance productivity, analytical depth and insight generation.
Internal Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Partner closely with Financial & Management Reporting, Capital Management, Treasury, Risk Management, Strategy, Sustainability, Business Units, Corporate Communications, Group Secretariat and other stakeholders to develop a consistent and credible external narrative.
Facilitate information flow between the investment community and internal stakeholders, ensuring external perspectives, investor concerns and market expectations are appropriately understood and considered.
Coordinate cross-functional efforts to support earnings preparation, investor engagements, disclosure developments, strategic initiatives and other high-profile corporate activities.
Governance & Disclosure
Ensure all investor relations activities adhere to regulatory requirements, listing obligations and principles of fair, accurate and timely disclosure.
Maintain strong governance over market-sensitive information and support best practices in external communications.
Monitor relevant regulatory and market-practice developments and assess implications for the Group.
