Overview
The Product Business Partner — Commercial & International Small Chassis is accountable for driving growth, capturing market needs, and delivering the voice of the customer into product strategy for three critical market areas: the US Multi-Housing segment (serving route operators and college housing), National Accounts, and international Small Chassis portfolio requests across international markets. This role ensures that roadmap decisions are grounded in customer requirements, competitive intelligence, and commercial reality.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for achieving new product revenue growth targets for the small chassis Commercial segment
- Accountable for working with international sales offices to develop a portfolio of profitable line extensions to grow our global small chassis product line. Champion model number assignments through our engineering and operations teams
- Work with Project Management to teams to achieve product launch on time
- Accountable for developing and executing go-to-market plans for new product launches within the multi housing segment, partnering with Marketing on launch packages and Sales on channel activation
- Responsible for capturing market needs from route operators, government/military accounts, college housing, and international distributors, and translating them into business cases that drive profitable growth
- Deliver the voice of the customer into product strategy discussions by maintaining structured relationships with key accounts and conducting regular field visits (minimum 2 weeks per quarter) with standardized debrief process
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key Commercial customers and international product managers to inform product roadmap priorities and ensure alignment between product plans and market needs
- Position yourself as a strategic asset to the sales team — the person who can answer product questions, solve customer problems, and provide clarity for engineering and marketing teams.
- Partner with sales to generate insights on key drivers of purchase decisions, improve close rates, and identify and mitigate barriers to purchase across assigned segments
Qualifications
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, sales, or commercial strategy in B2B manufacturing, appliance, or industrial equipment industries
- Demonstrated experience managing customer relationships and translating voice-of-customer into product requirements or commercial strategy
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated ability to own segment-level new product launch outcomes and drive revenue growth
- Understanding of stage-gate product development process and go-to-market planning
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence, serving as a hub for information flow between Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and Product Management
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends in data
- Ability to develop business cases with quantitative financial justification, including market sizing, revenue forecasting, and margin analysis
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically while challenging the status quo
Travel:
- Approximately 25% domestic and international travel, including regular field visits with customers, distributors, and route operators
Standard and Physical Requirements:
- Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
