Description

The Enrollment Communications Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing prospective student communications through the institution's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. This position supports enrollment goals by developing targeted, data-driven communication campaigns that engage prospective students throughout the admissions funnel-from inquiry to enrollment.

 

Working collaboratively with Admissions, Marketing and Communications, Enrollment Management, Information Technology, and academic departments, the Enrollment Communications Manager ensures timely, personalized, and effective communications that enhance the student experience while supporting recruitment strategies.

 

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

Marketing Communications

  • Create, test, and deploy email, SMS, event, and workflow communications

  • Design, build, test, and deploy workflows, forms, queries, portals, reports, and other Slate deliverables to meet departmental and institutional objectives.

  • Develop and maintain personalized communication plans that align with institutional branding and recruitment strategies for undergraduate, graduate, transfer, adult, online, and international student populations

  • Collaborate with Marketing to create compelling email content, landing pages, digital forms, and event communications

  • Coordinate communication calendars to ensure consistent messaging across multiple audiences

  • Support recruitment campaigns promoting campus visits, application deadlines, financial aid, admitted student events, and enrollment initiatives

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor campaign performance including:

    • Open rates

    • Click-through rates

    • Conversion rates

    • Application yield

    • Enrollment outcomes

  • Generate reports and dashboards to support enrollment decision-making

  • Build queries, ad-hoc reports, and dashboards within Slate or related data tools to support decision-making and operational needs, based on analysis or specifications provided by stakeholders.

  • Recommend improvements based on analytics and user behavior

 

Recruitment Support

  • Collaborate with admissions counselors to identify communication opportunities for specific populations

  • Assist with recruitment events through CRM registrations, reminders, surveys, and follow-up campaigns

  • Support recruitment initiatives through audience segmentation and personalized outreach

CRM Management

  • Maintain and optimize the admissions CRM (Slate)

  • Segment and assign leads, maintaining letters in Slate as up to date and current, releasing and assigning letters

  • Develop automated workflows and drip campaigns based on student behavior and recruitment milestones

  • Ensure CRM data integrity by monitoring records, imports, exports, and segmentation

  • Troubleshoot the system as needed

Process Improvement

  • Evaluate existing communication workflows for efficiency and effectiveness

  • Recommend new CRM functionality and automation opportunities

  • Participate in CRM upgrades, testing, and implementation of new features

  • Identify and recommend ways to leverage Slate's full capabilities to improve business processes, address challenges, and reduce inefficiencies across functional areas.

  • Analyze current workflows and design new processes within Slate that promote operational efficiency, data quality, and strategic advantage.

 

SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & SKILLS

 

  • Master's Degree required;

  • Must be proficient in the use of Admissions CRMs with a willingness for continuous learning

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) or similar products;

  • Demonstrate ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality;

  • Ability to effectively manage time and priorities;

  • Ability to prioritize office workflow and make effective administrative decisions to increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivity;

  • Demonstrated ability to tactfully and effectively communicate (written and verbal) with a variety of individuals;

  • Strong critical thinking skills;

  • Demonstrates organizational ability, and attention to detail and accuracy;

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;

  • Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day;

  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk;

  • Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
