Volunteer - PCH-SL Gift Shop

Volunteer Description:

Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles.

The heart of a volunteer is never measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.

Gift Shop Volunteers have the fun opportunity of working with patients, their families and Caregivers in our incredible Gift Shop!

Current shift needs are as follows:

·       Monday: 4pm – 7pm

·       Tuesday: 4pm – 7pm

·       Wednesday: 9am-12pm

·       Wednesday: 4-pm-7pm

·       Thursday: 9am-12pm

·       Saturday: 3pm-7pm

Volunteers will follow the instructions of the Gift Shop Manager and volunteer office staff to assist with different job duties in the Gift Shop.

Volunteer activities may include the following:

·        Greet patients and family entering the Gift Shop.

·        Assist with receiving product and product display.

·        Cash handling/Operate Cash Register.

·        Answer phones and take orders for Gifts to be delivered to patients

·        Organize, clean, and make the shop attractive.

·        Interact with staff, patients, and patient families.

·        Through Gift choices and delivering Gifts to patient rooms.

Expectations:

·        Be at least 16 years old.

·        Moderate lifting/carrying/pushing

·        Be able to commit to 6 months of volunteering once a week for three hours.

·        Able to follow and execute instructions

·        Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

·        Able to work with children in varying age groups

·        Able to work well with diverse populations

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·        Sensitive to patient and family situations / dynamics

·        Maintain and respect professional relationships
