Project Description
The Global Procurement team is an integral contributor to Micron’s growth, advancing total-cost effectiveness and supply-chain resilience through predictive capabilities, risk analysis, sustainability, and supplier diversity. The team invests in skills-based learning and development, creates opportunities for career growth, and fosters an inclusive global culture.
The intern will undertake a structured transformation project within Front-End Materials Procurement Operations. The project will provide practical exposure to procurement systems, strategic sourcing, performance analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and robotic process automation. The intern will develop a digital solution that improves procurement visibility, analytical insight, and workflow efficiency.
Objective of the Project
- Develop an AI-Enabled tracking and analytics solution for selected procurement strategies, supplier indicators, or business requirements.
- Analyze procurement and supply-chain data to identify trends, risks, capacity constraints, and improvement opportunities.
- Apply Agentic AI, data visualization, or robotic process automation to improve reporting and decision-making.
- Develop procurement, digital, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities through a defined learning project.

Project Scope
- Procurement systems and analytics: Develop or enhance procurement tools, dashboards, and analytical processes to improve visibility and decision-making.
- Agentic AI and data insights: Develop an Agentic AI solution to analyze procurement and supply-chain data and identify trends, risks, opportunities, and potential process improvements.
- Process excellence: Review selected workflows with cross-functional stakeholders and design improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and transparency.
- Strategic sourcing and performance analytics: Analyze sourcing strategies, supplier performance, capacity constraints, procurement metrics, business requirements, and cost-optimization opportunities within the defined project scope.
Learning Opportunities
- Gain practical exposure to materials procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier performance, supply-chain risk, and performance-management concepts.
- Learn to translate procurement requirements and data into dashboards, analytical insights, and process-improvement recommendations.
- Develop familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, Agentic AI, AI Assistants, data visualization, and robotic process automation.
- Collaborate with procurement, supply-chain, engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders in a global business environment.
Deliverables
- A functional tracking system that improves visibility of selected procurement strategies, supplier indicators, risks, or performance metrics.
- An Agentic AI, dashboard, analytics, or automation prototype addressing a defined procurement operations challenge.
- A documented review of the selected process, including improvement opportunities, implemented changes, evaluation results, and recommendations.
- A final project report and presentation covering the problem statement, methodology, outcomes, business impact, limitations, and scaling opportunities.
- The internal internship programme includes presentation of project deliverables to department leaders, together with interim and final reports or presentations.
Impact of the Project
- Improve the visibility and consistency of procurement and supplier-related information.
- Strengthen data-informed identification of sourcing risks, capacity constraints, trends, and cost opportunities.
- Reduce inefficient or repetitive steps within the selected procurement workflow.
- Demonstrate a scalable AI-Enabled or automation approach for procurement operations.
Skillsets Required
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable learning in a global, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
- Strong analytical, data interpretation, structured problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, or Microsoft Power BI, with an interest in tools such as UiPath, Tableau, Microsoft Power Automate, or other automation platforms.
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence tools, Agentic AI, Generative AI, AI Assistants, data analytics, or other AI-Enabled workflows.
Course of Interest
The ideal candidate should be pursuing a degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Science, Chemistry, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
Duration of Period
The ideal candidate should be able to commit to a full time internship period of at least five months, from January to May or June 2027.
