What you get to do:
As a Corporate EHS Manager, you will provide skilled, knowledgeable support for our year-round park operational needs. You will:

  • Provide leadership and technical expertise to implement and audit policies, training, and safety/environmental practices for all park locations to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policy. Primary focus will include an emphasis on Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) compliance, water quality standards, and chemical management.  Interface with applicable regulatory authorities; OSHA, EPA, EPC, DEP, DOT, Water Management Districts, DOH, Local Municipalities and others as applicable to develop and maintain cooperative business and community relationships for all park locations.
  • Assist in initiating, developing, and reviewing companywide EHS policies and procedures and ensure they are implemented and maintained effectively at each park location. Manage activities and provide leadership direction to Park Senior management, park EHS department and all team members company wide.
  • Provide the technical expertise to implement and audit policy, training, and safe practices for zoological, entertainment, culinary, operations, and facilities/maintenance venues that have potential to affect guest and employee safety.
  • Audit written safety/environmental programs, field tasks/activities, training/drills to ensure compliance. Implement and follow up on corrective action as needed.
  • Partner with parks in EHS based problem solving and solutions.
  • Assist in the management and execution of safety regulatory programs and best practices.
  • Ensures that OSHA standards and recordkeeping practices are adhered to in compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Consistently practice and drive a culture of safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to meet strict deadlines and lead others in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written, oral and presentation).


What it takes to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an Environmental, Health, or Safety related major preferred.
  • Must have a cumulation of five (5) years of related experience and/or training in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety field or equivalent training or experience, preferably in occupational health, emergency medicine or environmental science preferred.
  • Prior theme park EHS experience preferred.
  • Independently motivated and directed, while focused on needs of the organization.
  • Must have knowledge of environmental/safety laws and/or the ability to research new information and/or laws.
  • Ability to create tangible goals and execute activities to achieve those goals.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees utilizing excellent verbal and written skills. 
  • Ability to develop and successfully present policy or instructional materials to large groups. 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include early hours and late evening hours, weekends, and holidays with periodic travel required.
  • Must be able to stand and walk frequently for extended periods of time; must be able to lift, push, carry and pull 50 pounds occasionally; ability to climb/ascend heights if needed; perform tasks that require frequent bending from waist to floor, kneeling, squatting, simple hand grasping work, overhead work and fine manipulation (use of keyboard/writing).
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes.
  • Must be able to adapt and be flexible in job scope changes based on business needs and career development opportunities.
