Job Summary:
Learns and supports the installation and finishing of drywall systems under close supervision. Assists with material handling, layout preparation, and basic installation tasks while developing technical and safety skills required for the trade. Builds foundational knowledge of drywall framing, hanging, and finishing techniques and gains familiarity with DPR’s standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. Contributes to the success of the crew by maintaining organization and assisting with daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assists in preparing and organizing materials, tools, and work areas for metal stud and drywall systems.
Supports team members in measuring, cutting, fitting, and attaching drywall panels and framing components.
Learns proper techniques for framing wall systems under direct supervision.
Observes and follows instructions to develop understanding of drywall installation methods and quality standards.
Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment throughout all phases of drywall work.
Follows DPR safety policies and PPE requirements at all times.
Participates in on-the-job and formal training to develop trade proficiency and understanding of project expectations.
Education Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
Work Experience:
0–2 years of experience in drywall installation, finishing, or a related field required.
Certifications and Licenses:
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour Construction certification preferred. OSHA 10 program completion within 6 months of hire is required.
