Logistics Coordinator

Location: Salinas, CA
Schedule: Full-Time, Non-exempt, Monday to Friday, Weekends required as needed, Onsite

About the Role

Duda Farm Fresh Foods is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Logistics Coordinator to support our transportation and supply chain operations in Salinas, California. This position plays a critical role in coordinating the movement of finished goods and raw materials, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining transportation records, and supporting our commitment to customer service and operational excellence. 

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving logistical challenges, and can effectively coordinate with transportation providers, customers, warehouses, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the transportation of finished goods and raw materials to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
• Schedule and manage transportation appointments with customers, warehouses, and freight carriers.
• Monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery and communicate shipment status updates.
• Investigate and document transportation exceptions, including delays, shortages, damages, and temperature-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate shipment data within transportation management and business systems.
• Review freight invoices and transportation charges for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Support refrigerated transportation operations and ensure compliance with transportation and food safety requirements.
• Maintain transportation documentation, including bills of lading, proofs of delivery, and freight records.
• Monitor carrier compliance documentation, including insurance and other required records.
• Prepare and distribute transportation and logistics reports as requested.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, shipping, or supply chain operations.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Preferred

• Two or more years of logistics coordination experience.
• Experience in fresh produce, food distribution, refrigerated freight, or temperature-controlled transportation.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Dynamics.

• Combination of office and warehouse environments.
• Occasional exposure to cooler and production environments.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and use computer equipment for extended periods.

• Availability to support occasional after-hours, weekend, and on-call operational needs.
