Summer 2027 Intern - Claims Operations

An internship with our company is a great opportunity to build your skillset and explore your career interests. Our summer student internship is a 10-to-14-week program that starts in mid-May and ends in August. During your internship, you'll work on impactful projects that make a difference at our company, with our customers, and in our communities.

You'll also gain exposure to different areas of our business and have numerous opportunities for networking and coaching.

Interns may be eligible for a one-time hiring bonus to assist with housing costs depending upon proximity to our company office location.

Compensation Minimum: $25.00
Compensation Maximum: $39.00

As a Claims Operations Intern you will support initiatives focused on driving AI adoption, standardization, and value realization across the Claims organization. Working alongside business and technology partners, you will help identify, document, and promote high-impact AI use cases, build prompt and use case inventories, and support efforts to streamline repetitive work while aligning with established governance and business controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of our business, corporate culture and structure to support your work.
• Identify, document, and evaluate high-value AI use cases that improve efficiency and streamline business processes across the Claims organization.
• Support the development and maintenance of AI prompt libraries, use case inventories, and adoption resources to encourage consistent and effective use of AI tools.
• Collaborate with business partners to analyze repetitive work, recommend opportunities for standardization, and measure the impact of AI-enabled solutions.

Requirements

• Must be in student status at an accredited 4-year college or university during the internship, graduating August 2027 or later.

• Must be pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD.

• Major/program must align with internship role.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate ideas into clear documentation and recommendations.

• Interest in artificial intelligence, process improvement, change management, and technology adoption.

• Experience with Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 applications, or other AI-enabled tools is preferred.

• Preferred majors include Business, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Communications, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.

Additional Information

• To ensure a strong start, all employees participate in our New Employee Orientation during their first week.  This experience is held in person at our Madison, WI Headquarters or one of our AmFam core locations to help you connect with our mission, meet key team members and build relationships that support your growth.  At times, sessions may be delivered virtually based on scheduling and availability.
