Description
Systems Engineer III - Security and Cloud Modernization
SITEC Consulting is seeking a Systems Engineer III with Information Systems Security Officer-type experience to support transformation and modernization engineering efforts for a government customer. This position will serve as a central coordination point between customer organizations and technical teams while supporting system security, product certifications, compliance activities, and cloud-migration initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a technically capable communicator who can coordinate across security, engineering, and cloud-architecture teams while keeping leadership informed of requirements, risks, decisions, and progress.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary communications focal point between designated customer organizations, including Y3674 and Y6.

Coordinate technical, security, and programmatic information among government stakeholders, engineering teams, and mission partners.

Serve as the security coordinator for assigned systems, products, and modernization efforts.

Support Security Test and Evaluation and Security Test Network activities for products.

Coordinate and support System Security Plan development, maintenance, reauthorization, and related security documentation.

Track security requirements, risks, findings, approvals, and remediation activities.

Support Section 508 compliance assessments and coordinate required documentation or corrective actions.

Work with the Y373 cloud-architecture team to plan and coordinate the movement of systems, products, and capabilities into the cloud.

Assist with cloud security, authorization, architecture, and migration-readiness activities.

Coordinate with system owners, engineers, cybersecurity personnel, architects, and program leadership.

Participate in technical and security meetings and communicate decisions, requirements, risks, and action items.

Develop technical briefings, status reports, security documentation, and leadership presentations.

Monitor dependencies and ensure security and compliance considerations are incorporated throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Support transformation and modernization planning, implementation, and continuous-improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
-
Demonstrated systems engineering experience supporting complex government or Department of Defense environments.

Experience performing ISSO, cybersecurity coordination, system-security engineering, or comparable security responsibilities.

Experience developing, maintaining, reviewing, or supporting System Security Plans and authorization packages.

Familiarity with system reauthorization and security assessment processes.

Experience coordinating across cybersecurity, engineering, architecture, and program-management teams.

Understanding of cloud migration, cloud security, and modernization concepts.

Knowledge of Security Test and Evaluation processes or comparable product-security testing activities.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to serve as a liaison between technical teams, security organizations, and senior stakeholders.

Ability to prepare and present clear technical and leadership-level briefings.
-
Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently track multiple requirements, actions, and deadlines.

Must meet applicable customer security and clearance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience supporting cloud migration within a classified or Department of Defense environment.

Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework and applicable federal or Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements.

Familiarity with NIST security controls, continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and authorization processes.

Experience with Section 508 compliance requirements.

Experience coordinating STE, STN, product-certification, or security-testing activities.
-
Experience working with cloud-architecture teams and supporting secure system transitions to cloud environments.
-
Relevant cybersecurity, cloud, or systems-engineering certification.
