Are you an experienced M&A lawyer looking to further develop your expertise in an international engineering company? As Senior Legal Counsel , M&A-Specialist, you will join FLSmidth's Global Legal department and become part of a collaborative legal team supporting international M&A transactions and commercial matters across multiple jurisdictions. You will be based at our headquarters in Copenhagen S, Denmark.

Reporting to the General Counsel – EMEA & ASIA, you will work closely with our M&A department and business stakeholders to provide legal support throughout the transaction process. This is an opportunity to work on complex cross-border transactions and strategic projects while collaborating with experienced colleagues across Legal, Finance, Tax and the wider business.

In addition to M&A, you will support a broader range of legal matters, including drafting and negotiating international sales contracts, handling claims and disputes, company law matters, and delivering practical legal training to business stakeholders.

Your responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support on M&A transactions and corporate projects
• Lead legal negotiation support for high-value or high-risk business decisions
• Support corporate transactions, partnerships, and major commercial contracts
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal governance frameworks
• Manage and coordinate external legal counsel
• Partner closely with the M&A Department and key stakeholders
• Deliver legal training to business stakeholders on M&A and related topics

What you bring

• You are a qualified Danish lawyer (advokat) with advanced expertise in M&A.
• You have at least five years of experience as a lawyer in a law firm or an in-house legal department and are comfortable drafting contracts and communicating in English.
• Strong negotiation and deal structuring capability.
• Experience with company law, dispute resolution, competition law and employment law.
• Strong understanding of working in an international, multi-jurisdictional environment.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong relationships across functions.
• A proactive approach, a strong sense of ownership and attention to quality.
• Good IT skills.
• Excellent Danish and English language skills

Annual gross salary range (fix plus variable) 962,421 - 1,303,000 DKK
