Job Summary
Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing workforce development programs and initiatives to enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of staff. This role focuses on identifying training needs, coordinating professional development opportunities, and supporting the growth and career advancement of employees to optimize patient care and organizational success.Primary Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular assessments to identify training and development needs among hospital staff, considering both individual and organizational goals.
• Develop and design effective training programs, workshops, and learning modules to address identified learning needs, utilizing various instructional methods and resources.
• Coordinate the scheduling, logistics, and delivery of training sessions, collaborating with department heads and training facilitators.
• Promote and support the professional development of hospital staff, providing access to resources, workshops, conferences, and continuing education opportunities.
• Facilitate the onboarding and orientation process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles and the hospital's culture.
• Assist in developing career paths and succession plans for employees, fostering a culture of career growth and advancement.
• Promote employee engagement and satisfaction through meaningful learning experiences and development opportunities.
Employee Support
• Provide individualized career coaching to employees throughout participation and after completion of foundational Workforce Development programs. Programs include but are not limited to Professional Writing Fundamentals, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Foundational Computer Courses, and the Online College Preparation Program (OCPP).
• Promote continuous career advancement by encouraging participants to build upon skills gained in foundational programs through additional training, certifications, apprenticeships, college degrees, and career mobility within Mass General Brigham.
• Partner with WFD staff and training organizations to develop course schedules responsive to organizational and employee needs.
Workforce Development Program Promotion
• Serve as WFD primary point of contact and liaison for MGB Branding and Communications teams, supporting consistent alignment with system standards.
• Coordinate and process WFD team requests for promotional items and communications materials, including routine content edits, updates, and maintenance.
• Participate in the implementation and revision of a WFD internal communications plan.
• Consult on external marketing and communications.
• Coordinate and maintain WFD presence and content across key MGB employee communication channels, including Vitals, Ask MyHR, and other internal platforms
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field strongly preferred.
2+ years of Workforce Development/Human Resources experience required.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Familiarity with instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and training evaluation methods.
- Understanding of healthcare industry regulations and compliance training needs is desirable.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively deliver training content and interact with hospital staff at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders to identify training needs and develop training solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess training needs, evaluate program effectiveness, and measure the impact of training initiatives.
- Effective organizational and project management skills to manage multiple training programs and deadlines.

Schedule and Work Model:
Full time, Monday through Friday, standard business hours with occasional requirement to work evening hours telephonically to communicate with employees who work off-shift (approximately 2-3x/month).
Hybrid work model: Days in office vary, there is no set schedule
In office locations: Assembly Row, Somerville, MA (1-2 meetings per month) and Mass General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Salem Hospital, Newton Wellesley Hospital, Cooley Dickinson Hospital and/or other hospitals within the Mass General Brigham system approximately once per week.
On remote workdays, employees must use a stable, secure, and compliant workstation in a quiet environment. Teams Video is required and must be accessed using MGB-provided equipment.
