The Senior TypeScript Developer role focuses on designing and building scalable applications, making architectural decisions, and mentoring junior developers. Responsibilities include developing robust TypeScript solutions for both front-end and back-end systems, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with TypeScript, distributed architectures, API design, and modern development practices, along with strong leadership and communication skills.We're seeking an experienced Senior TypeScript Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you'll design and build scalable applications, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural decisions that shape our technology stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust TypeScript applications across front-end and back-end systems.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices and design patterns.
- Architect scalable solutions and make technical decisions that align with business objectives.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering their technical growth.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Optimize application performance and identify bottlenecks.
- Stay current with TypeScript ecosystem developments and recommend new technologies or approaches.
- Contribute to technical documentation and coding standards.
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of extensive TypeScript experience in production environments.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals, ES6+, and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with Node.js and back-end TypeScript development.
- Extensive experience designing and building distributed architectures and microservices.
- Expert-level knowledge of API design principles, RESTful APIs, and/or GraphQL.
- Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong knowledge of testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, or similar).
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with modern build tools (Webpack, Vite, Rollup) and module bundlers.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Understanding of microservices architecture.
- Experience with monorepo management tools (Nx, Turborepo, Lerna).
- Contributions to open-source TypeScript projects.
- Experience with type-driven development and advanced TypeScript features.
- Knowledge of design patterns and software architecture principles.
- Experience leading technical initiatives or projects.
This opportunity is for an existing vacancy with the company. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a bonus program.
