Description
Bookstore Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
- Open and close the bookstore safely, including disarming and setting security alarm systems.
- Customer Service: Greet shoppers, answer questions, and help customers locate specific titles or sections.
- Cashier Duties: Handle cash management tasks, such as counting registers, balancing tills.
- Merchandising: Shelves, organize, and restock books by genre or author to keep the sales floor tidy.
- Backroom Support when needed: Sort incoming book donations, evaluate book conditions, and price items fairly.
- Monitor store cleanliness, safety standards, and visual merchandising.
- Communication: Friendly interpersonal skills to assist customers and work with team members.
- Help train new team members on store policies and register, pricing books and donations.
- Strong attention to detail for categorizing genres and tracking inventory accurately.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs all other duties as assigned and trained.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with a passion for books a major plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds, walking or standing to a significant degree, exposed to extreme temperatures, noise, fumes, dust, etc.
