The Driver provides transport/logistical assistance and support in servicing WVDF staff for their transport needs in support to the organizational goals and objectives of WVDF with the end in view of creating a balanced customer service and accountability that undertakes continuous improvement of systems, service and stewardship. Responsible in ensuring WVDF owned vehicles are well maintained, readily available for transport needs, and that quality driving service is rendered to staff and officers of the organization. He demonstrates a Christ-centered life and work in serving children, families, communities, and WV team.
This is a fixed post for two months based in Polomolok and covering areas in General Santos and Sarangani.
Major Responsibilities:
- Renders driving service to the organization within the parameters of
- guidelines on transport service and based on approved vehicle
- requisition.
- Ensures that assigned vehicle is clean and in good running condition
- before leaving for an approved scheduled trip (check tire, brakes, wipers,
- lights, fuel, oil and water).
- Responsible for ensuring that assigned vehicle is equipped with required
- repair kits, tools and spare tires, including medical kits, flashlight and cell
- phone charger inside the vehicle.
- Exercises due diligence in driving the vehicle at a safe speed to ensure
- safety of passengers and the vehicle as well.
- Complies with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe
- and courteous manner. In case of traffic violation/s committed by the
- driver he shall be responsible for the payment of any penalties or fine.
- Loads passenger and park vehicle at appropriate loading and parking area
- respectively to prevent violations, towing, and car napping incidents.
- Facilitates routine vehicle maintenance, check-up, minor repairs, cleaning
- and washing of vehicles.
- Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicles to immediate supervisor for appropriate actions.
- Maintain a repair and maintenance record of assigned vehicle to be included in the monthly report.
Qualifications:
- Vocational graduate with a valid professional driver’s license.
- At least 3–5 years of experience as a company driver.
- Familiar with routes in General Santos, Sarangani, and nearby provinces.
- Experienced in long-distance driving, including Visayas and Mindanao land trips.
- At least 1–2 years of experience driving 4x4 vehicles.
- Experience driving during emergency and relief operations.
- Computer literate and familiar with basic office software, including Word, Excel, and transport databases.
- Knowledgeable in defensive driving and road safety.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Willing to travel domestically up to 80% of the time.
- Willing to work overtime when needed.
- Physically fit and in good health.
