Description

SENIOR FERTILIZER TRADER

Trading Team — Dubai, United Arab Emirates

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a commercially driven and highly experienced Senior Fertilizer Trader to join our Dubai-based trading team, with a strong emphasis on sourcing and origination. The successful candidate will originate and source supply directly from producers and suppliers, and market and execute international trading transactions across fertilizer and mineral commodities, drawing on a deep understanding of global commodity markets, strong commercial acumen, and an established network of suppliers and buyers across key international markets.

The ideal candidate brings a proven track record across the full trading lifecycle — origination and sourcing, market analysis, contract negotiation, logistics coordination, risk management, and relationship development — with a consistent record of delivering profitable growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sourcing & Origination

  • Lead origination efforts by proactively sourcing supply directly from producers, manufacturers, and suppliers across established markets.
  • Build and deepen first-hand sourcing relationships that give the company priority access to competitive, reliable supply.
  • Continuously scout new origination opportunities and supplier partnerships to strengthen and diversify the supply base.

Trading & Business Development

  • Identify, develop, and execute profitable trading opportunities across fertilizer and mineral commodity markets.
  • Manage the full trade lifecycle, from sourcing and procurement through to sales, logistics, and contract completion.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with producers, suppliers, distributors, traders, and end-users worldwide.
  • Expand market presence by identifying new business opportunities, customers, and trading channels.
  • Drive revenue growth through effective market penetration and portfolio development.
  • Engage directly with buyers, and work closely with the company's local trading team in Brazil, to strengthen market access and origination in this priority region.

Commercial & Contract Management

  • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and customers on pricing, contract terms, payment structures, and delivery schedules.
  • Structure and execute international trade contracts in line with industry standards and company policy.
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure the timely fulfilment of all commercial obligations.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to optimize trade finance and working capital requirements.

Market Intelligence & Risk Management

  • Monitor global fertilizer and mineral markets, including supply-demand trends, pricing movements, freight rates, and geopolitical developments.
  • Analyze market intelligence to identify opportunities and mitigate commercial risks.
  • Develop trading strategies to manage market volatility, counterparty risk, and supply chain disruptions.
  • Provide regular market insights, forecasts, and trading recommendations to senior management.

Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Coordinate with logistics, shipping, and operations teams to ensure efficient execution of international shipments.
  • Manage vessel nominations, freight negotiations, shipping schedules, and trade documentation.
