UPS Philippines / Buildings and Systems Engineering, Specialist
Location: Clark Civil Aviation Complex Pampanga
Working hours: Mon – Fri, 8:00 – 17:00 (Subject to change depending on facility operation schedule)

Job Summary
This position supports the protection of UPS facilities and equipment. With the individual’s technical knowledge and analytical skills, he/she assists with providing safe and reliable material, handling equipment and facilities and ensuring environmental compliance. The Buildings and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Specialist will be performing the following tasks:
- Assist the Supervisor with project management tasks related to the installation of conveyor equipment and facility construction, supervise contractors, holding them accountable to fulfill the scope of the contract
- Manage budget to ensure project scope is completed without exceeding approved funds
- Prepare estimates and drawings for facility and equipment layouts
- Prepare justifications for appropriations of funds for projects
- Prepare bid documents and contracts for construction, procurement, and installation
- Fairly bid and award contracts for projects
- Maintenance of conveyor equipment and buildings
- Daily operation technical support provisions on conveyor system - maintenance schedule, PMI, facility safety, compliance, purchase, contract, RFA, PO and system troubleshooting.
- Investigating root causes for conveyor performance issues using system analysis tools. Troubleshooting, calibrating, analyzing, and adjusting Conveyor Systems as necessary to maintain optimal performance.
- Communicating with the Buildings and Systems Engineering Supervisor and Operations Management to reduce system defects and equipment downtime. Responding to calls and breakdowns related to conveyor system components and expediting their completion
- Reviewing daily equipment condition reports. Dispatching of field-support vendors/mechanics to conduct regular PMI and to rectify facilities and equipment issues.
- Supervise mechanic/contractor during the implementation process to ensure quality and effectiveness of job.
- Parts ordering and inventory maintenance
- Assist the Supervisor with Facility Safety and Environmental Programs compliance
- Implement programs by assessing needs and creating documents
- Train local staff in compliance requirements
- Audit Facility Safety and Environmental programs for compliance
- Implement corrective actions for identified deficiencies
- Assist the Supervisor with Facility Housekeeping Tasks.
- Directly or support others in oversight of housekeeping contractors
- Create detailed bid packages for housekeeping contracts
- Fairly and openly bid and award contracts for housekeeping
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/electrical engineering/civil engineering/construction management or similar relevant discipline
- Excellent communication skills. Proficient in both spoken and written English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- 1 year experience minimum, 3 years preferred in conveyor system installations OR maintenance management.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, warehouse setting
- Results and detail oriented
- Sense of urgency
- Flexibility to accommodate changing shift time
- Capable of lifting up to 32kg unassisted
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and elementary diagrams is an asset
- Knowledge of PLC’s and electrical controls is an asset
- Experience with IBM Maximo, Coupa is an asset
- Articulating-boom lift, scissor lift, and forklift experience is an asset
