Process Engineer

As a Process Engineer, you will standardize manufacturing processes and operating procedures across production areas to improve operational efficiency, reduce process variation and waste, and ensure safe and sustainable operations. You will support technology transfer plans and the implementation of best practices among PPG manufacturing sites. Additionally, you will participate in process design, continuous improvement projects, and capital projects to enhance productivity, quality, and reliability.

You will improve product quality and manufacturing performance by promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

You will report to the Process Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate manufacturing processes to increase productivity, improve cycle times, and improve process capability.
• Implement process improvements that minimize raw material losses, reduce waste, and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
• Support troubleshooting activities and root cause analysis to resolve process-related issues affecting safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Develop, standardize, and maintain operating procedures, process documentation, and manufacturing standards.
• Verify that operations are carried out safely and in compliance with company policies, using Near Miss reporting and proactive safety projects as incident prevention tools.
• Promote compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements established by PPG.
• Support process validation, scale-up activities, and technology transfers between manufacturing sites.
• Participate in capital projects, process design reviews, and equipment improvement projects.
• Exercise the authority to stop operations, equipment, or unsafe practices that may compromise personnel safety, environmental compliance, product quality, or process integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in process engineering within the coatings, paints, chemicals, manufacturing, or related industries.
• Knowledge of coating manufacturing processes, mixing, dispersion, blending, packaging, or related chemical production operations is preferred.
• Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience leading process optimization and cost reduction projects.
• Fluent English.
