Lawyer - Corporate M&A and Capital Markets

The Opportunity

This is an exciting growth opportunity to work on impactful and market-shaping transactions as a key team member in one of Australia’s most respected Corporate & Capital Markets practices, led by industry-leading partners Jonathan Algar and Stuart Byrne.

As an integral member of our expanding practice, you will act for domestic and global clients across sectors spanning technology, fin-tech, health, financial services and retail. You will play a lead role on Australian and cross-border corporate transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, and public and private capital raisings including IPOs . You will also advise on strategic corporate matters, governance, shareholder activism and ASX listing rules.

As a lawyer in this team, you will have direct access to clients and the opportunity to build your own professional brand through investment and empowerment from the partners and other senior leaders across the firm. Your learning and development will be supported through on the job training as well as dedicated formal programs structured for each milestone of your career.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 3+ years' experience post qualification experience within a distinguished corporate law practice;
• Equity capital markets experience would be highly desirable;
• Well developed project management skills, with the capability to drive tasks with autonomy;
• Highly developed commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to build lasting client relationships;
• Genuine team player with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills; and
• A passion for and commitment to continuous learning in order to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
