Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Global Languages and Learning (GLL) Spanish-Language Computer Skills Instructor provides practical computer and digital literacy instruction to Spanish-speaking Klamath Community College students and community members. The instructor teaches foundational and intermediate computer skills in Spanish, helping learners develop confidence and independence in using technology for education, employment, communication, and everyday activities.
Instructions may include Microsoft Office applications, email and internet skills, digital communication, Canvas, Microsoft Teams, basic file management, online research, and introductory Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. The instructor uses practical, hands-on activities and provides instruction appropriate for learners with varying levels of computer experience.

- Plan and deliver computer skills instruction in Spanish to college students and community learners.
- Teach foundational computer skills, including navigating a computer, managing files and folders, using email, internet browsing, and basic online safety.
- Provide practical instruction in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other appropriate Microsoft Office applications.
- Introduce students to Canvas, Microsoft Teams, and other digital platforms used for education and communication.
- Teach practical technology skills that support employment, education, communication, and everyday life.
- Provide introductory instruction and demonstrations of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and their practical applications for learning, communication, research, productivity, and everyday tasks.
- Demonstrate technology concepts in clear, accessible Spanish.
- Provide hands-on exercises and individualized assistance when appropriate.
- Adapt instruction to accommodate students with different levels of computer experience and learning needs.
- Create a patient, supportive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Prepare instructional materials, exercises, demonstrations, and other resources.
- Encourage students to develop confidence and independence when using technology.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with students, colleagues, and GLL staff.
- Maintain appropriate attendance, instructional, and program records as required.
- Follow Klamath Community College and GLL policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Participate in meetings, training, or professional development activities as requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications and digital technology.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to explain computer and technology concepts clearly to beginning and developing learners.
- Ability to provide instruction in Spanish in a patient, practical, and supportive manner.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Dependable, organized, punctual, and able to follow established procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and levels of technology experience.
Preferred:
- Experience teaching, training, tutoring, or providing technology assistance.
- Professional experience in information technology, computer systems, engineering, business technology, or a related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Access or other database applications.
- Experience using Canvas, Microsoft Teams, or other learning-management and communication platforms.
- Experience using or teaching Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.
- Experience working with adult learners, college students, or community education programs.
- Experience teaching technology skills to individuals with limited computer experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Primarily office-based with occasional field visits or off-site events.
- Frequent interaction with students, faculty, and industry partners.
- May require evening or weekend hours during peak activity periods.
- May occasionally lift or carry up to 20 lbs.
- Regular movement between seated, standing, and walking positions.
- Standard office and occasional field environment.
This position is classified as part-time and is typically scheduled for up to 20 hours per week. Regularly scheduled hours may be subject to change. Hours may not exceed 128 hours per one-month pay period. Not eligible for paid holidays, vacation or healthcare benefits beyond those required by law.
