About the role:
The Vendor Data Steward plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and governance of our Global Vendor Master Data. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of vendor records, including the processing of create, change, block, unblock, and delete requests, while ensuring compliance with global data standards and policies. Working closely with stakeholders across Procurement, Finance, and Operations, you will help drive data quality, support operational excellence, and enable trusted data for business decision-making across the organization.
What we're looking for:
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a passion for data quality, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across multiple functions and regions. Experience in Master Data Management, Vendor Data Governance, and ERP systems (such as SAP) is preferred. Experience with Power BI for reporting and data analysis is highly desirable, while knowledge of automation tools and process improvement techniques (such as Power Automate, workflow automation, or other digital solutions) would be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach, a continuous improvement mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-quality data that supports business success.
Responsibilities
Role Overview:
- Create, Change, Block, Unblock, Delete, and Review Vendor Master Data objects as required by approved Business personnel.
- Act as a steward and custodian of Vendor Master Data, ensuring compliance with global data governance policies, standards, controls, and business rules.
- Govern the quality, accuracy, consistency, and integrity of Vendor Master Data across all systems and processes, ensuring data remains fit for business use.
- Adhere to data quality standards and proactively identify, investigate, and resolve data issues and root causes.
- Support mass maintenance activities and data migration efforts during business projects such as new plant/warehouse implementations, company code changes, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Maintain and update process documentation, work instructions, data standards, and governance procedures in a timely manner.
- Execute data quality monitoring activities, identifying and correcting data errors, inconsistencies, duplicate records, and process weaknesses.
- Utilize Power BI and other reporting tools to analyse data quality trends, monitor KPIs, identify duplicates, and provide actionable insights to business stakeholders.
- Partner with business stakeholders to promote data governance best practices and drive accountability for data quality across the organization.
- Support internal and external audits, including SOX compliance activities, by providing accurate data, governance evidence, and supporting documentation as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline processes through automation and digital solutions, leveraging tools such as Power Automate or other workflow technologies where appropriate.
- Participate in Vendor Master Data governance continuous improvement initiatives, and strategic projects to enhance data quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and strengthen the organization's Master Data Management and Data Governance strategy.
- Actively participate in business, IT and ERP projects, including data cleansing, enrichment, testing, process improvement, and data governance initiatives to ensure successful project delivery and adoption.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 1-2 years’ experience in Master Data Management (MDM), Data Governance, Vendor Master Data, or a related data management function.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI for reporting, dashboard development, and data analysis is preferred.
- Proven experience maintaining and governing master data within ERP systems such as SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of data quality principles, data standards, data stewardship, and data governance best practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
