Description
Northwood Club is a premier country club established in 1946 and located in Dallas, Texas, best known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. The Club was listed as #1 Golf Course renovation in Avid Golfer Magazine's 2019 Private Clubs and named Best Overall Club in 2022-2024. The club also has a Distinguished Clubs of the World Emerald Designation for outstanding member service. Our staff consists of a wide range of professionals who are well recognized in areas of Tennis, Golf and Culinary.
The applicant for this position should be friendly, customer service oriented, and professional individual to provide services for members and guests. Answer phones to assist with general inquires and appointments on a daily basis. Also to assist with basic clerical work when needed.
Essential Duties:
- Welcomes members and guests, in person on the telephone; answering or referring inquires.
- Provide continuous and courteous customer service to members and their guests
- Answering phones in a timely manner, returning messages and confirming appointments.
- Directs members and guests; giving instructions.
- Helps maintain employee and department directories
- Maintains security by following procedures; monitoring logbook; issuing visitor passes.
- Typing and excel spread sheet knowledge required.
- Update daily newsletter and distribute
- Take reservations for dining and communicate to food and beverage department.
- Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager/Supervisor.
- Attends staff meetings when required
Education/Experience: High school education; or up to two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Fluent English is required. Effective communication to members, staff and between departments is required daily. Professional language and vocabulary will be used at all times.
Mathematical Skills: May be required: to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Reasoning Ability: May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one and two step instructions; to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Physical Demands: Frequently sits; uses hands to finger, feel or handle; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, sits, talks or hears. Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds.
Certificates/Licenses: Must be at least 18 years of age.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the employee may be required to communicate with English speaking members or co-workers, the manuals for equipment the employee may use are in English).
- Basic knowledge and use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
