Turner Industries is looking for an experienced Software Developer II to join our team in the Baton Rouge, LA area. The primary objective of the Software Development II is to develop enterprise quality software solutions that can be changed and expanded with minimum effort and become well versed in Agile methodology..
Essential Qualifications:
- The Software Developer II position typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related area
- At least 2 to 6 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I)
- This person must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and will perform a variety of complicated tasks as well as lead and direct the work of others
- Scrum is not a required prerequisite, but you will be required to learn Scrum and participate in a team
- Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to deal with face-to-face interactions with a wide variety of personalities. A positive attitude, open mind, and willingness to learn are essential
- Familiarity with AI development tools (specifically Gemini and Claude) and basic prompt engineering
- Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games, etc.
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others at the workplace
Functional Requirements:
Develop and maintain effective relationships with Team members; develop and maintain effective relationships with employees outside and inside of IT; have working experience with .NET 5+, C#, ASP.NET Web API, JavaScript, at least one JavaScript framework and HTTPS; have working experience of design principles such as S.O.L.I.D. and design patterns; have working experience of application architecture; have a working knowledge of modern IDEs (e.g., Visual Studio 2026, VS Code) and version control systems (e.g., Git); have working experience with SQL Server, Entity Framework Core 5.0+; have working experience with HTML5, CSS3; share the latest techniques and tools available in our development with other developers; deliver engaging and well thought out presentations to software developers regularly; propose specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely solutions to project impediments; utilize AI-powered coding assistants and tools (specifically Gemini and Claude) to enhance productivity, code generation, and debugging; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
Compensation
Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
