FP&A Analyst

As an FP&A Analyst within Lineage’s Global Integrated Solutions (GIS) business, you will play a key role in supporting the financial performance of our UK Road Transportation operations while contributing to FP&A activities across Europe, covering both Road Transportation and Freight Forwarding.

Working in a matrix structure, you will combine hands-on financial analysis with broader regional responsibilities. You will work closely with operational, commercial and finance teams to understand business performance, identify risks and opportunities, and turn financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights.

This is more than a reporting role. You will have the opportunity to challenge existing ways of working, improve processes and help move FP&A towards more automated, scalable and data-driven solutions. The role also offers a clear development path towards a Senior Financial Analyst position, with increasing ownership and business partnering responsibilities.

Responsibilities

·       Support monthly close, reporting and financial performance analysis for UK Road Transportation.

·       Analyse revenue, margins, operating costs, headcount, fleet expenses and productivity.

·       Prepare management reports, dashboards and performance reviews.

·       Investigate financial and operational variances and provide recommendations.

·       Support budgets, forecasts and long-range planning.

·       Monitor key operational and financial KPIs and identify trends, risks and opportunities.

·       Partner with operational and commercial teams to understand business drivers and translate them into financial insights.

·       Support business cases, investment reviews and capital expenditure analysis.

·       Contribute to European reporting and FP&A activities across Road Transportation and Freight Forwarding.

·       Consolidate and analyse country results and support regional forecasting.

·       Develop profitability and performance analysis by customer, country, business line and service.

·       Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate reporting and planning processes.

·       Build and enhance Power BI dashboards, financial models and self-service reporting solutions.

·       Drive continuous improvement in data quality, forecast accuracy and reporting efficiency.

·       Collaborate with finance teams across Europe and contribute to regional strategic planning initiatives.

Your background

·       Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field and Fully qualified  CIMA, ACA or ACCA.

·       4–7+ years of experience in FP&A, financial controlling, commercial finance or business partnering.

·       Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial performance management.

·       Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations.

·       Experience improving or automating financial reporting and processes.

·       Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work across functions and countries.

·       A proactive, curious and commercially minded approach, with a willingness to challenge existing processes.

·       Experience with Power BI and advanced Excel is preferred.

·       Experience in a multinational, matrix or operationally intensive environment is an advantage.

·       Keen interest in Logistics/Transportation

How does success look like?

Success means becoming a trusted finance partner to the UK Transportation leadership team and providing insights that help the business make better decisions.

Within your first 12–24 months, you will have taken ownership of key elements of European FP&A reporting and analysis, delivered measurable improvements through automation and standardisation, and established strong relationships with operational, commercial and finance stakeholders.

You will also have contributed to improving forecast quality, reporting efficiency and business insight across GIS — while building the experience and ownership needed to progress towards a Senior Financial Analyst position.
