About this Role
R.R. Cassidy, Inc. is a leader in electrical systems and power solutions, providing cutting-edge services to a wide range of industries. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Medium Voltage (MV) Termination Technician to join our team. You will work on critical power infrastructure and commercial projects. Your main job is to safely prepare, splice, and terminate medium voltage cables.
What You'll Do
- Perform Terminations: Install cold shrink, heat shrink, tape-shielded, and pre-molded terminations on 5kV to 35kV cables.
- Work with Gear: Make secure connections on transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers.
- Read Blueprints: Follow one-line diagrams, cable schedules, and manufacturer instructions.
- Test Systems: Conduct basic insulation resistance and continuity checks to verify work quality.
- Follow Safety Rules: Adhere strictly to OSHA, NFPA 70E, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols
Travel Requirements:
- Extensive travel is required, with some trips lasting several weeks. Travel schedules are planned in advance, with periods of high travel demand expected
What You'll Bring
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on medium voltage cable splicing and termination experience.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of 5kV–35kV shielded cable systems (EPR or XLPE).
- Certifications: Valid driver’s license; OSHA 10/30 or NETA/able-splicer certification is a plus.
- Physical Ability: Lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work outdoors in varying weather
