As a Nursing Informatics Specialist, you will focus on automated solutions that transform patient care and improve clinical outcomes. You will engage in agile approaches to support quality, iterative, and timely technology implementations while collaborating with nursing, IT, ancillary, and operational departments to enhance the patient and caregiver experience. This role facilitates communication, education, implementation, support, optimization, outcomes, decision support, and analytics for technologies utilized by the Nursing Institute.
A caregiver in this role works a hybrid schedule from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with three days onsite and two days remote.
To be considered for this position, caregivers must reside in the greater Northeast Ohio area.
Caregivers may work at the location closest to their home; however, when working on initiatives specific to another hospital, they will be required to work onsite at that location. Local travel between locations will be compensated in accordance with Cleveland Clinic Travel Policy.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Develop and implement automated technology solutions that improve patient care and clinical outcomes.
Support agile technology implementation through planning, testing, education, implementation, and optimization.
Collaborate with nursing, IT, ancillary, and operational team to identify opportunities to improve clinical workflow and the patient and caregiver experience.
Provide clinical system education, support, and just-in-time resources to caregivers.
Evaluate existing and proposed technology solutions to identify opportunities for workflow improvement and optimization.
Analyze current-state workflow and system integration to develop effective future-state solutions.
Assess the impact of technology changes on clinical policy, practice, procedure, and workflow.
Facilitate stakeholder decision-making, brainstorming, and collaboration related to clinical technology solutions.
Engage clinical caregiver to validate workflow, support technology adoption, provide training, and address knowledge gaps.
Manage project assignment and deliverable to ensure timeline, expectation, and outcome are met.
Communicate project status, escalate issue, and take ownership of project deliverables and outcomes.
Develop and monitor project metric to measure outcome and align initiative with organizational and departmental goals.
Support innovation and promote a collaborative team culture.
Facilitate communication and coordination throughout technology implementation, support, optimization, and ongoing evaluations.
Perform other duty as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Completion of a recognized course of study from an accredited School of Nursing
Three years of clinical nursing experience
In-depth knowledge of clinical nursing theory and practice
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
Technical certification may be required
Epic certification or recertification within 90 days of hire
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
BSN
EPIC Build experience
EPIC Certifications - CLINDOC
Three years of recent inpatient bedside nursing experience
