SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for performing physical and visual inspections of product and plant systems, documenting, and calculating results accurately; taking corrective action when necessary (alert appropriate personnel to adjust process; identify, segregate, & isolate non-conforming product) and report results to management; any additional assignments requested. All team members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.  This position can work in a hot, humid environment or cold, damp environment and slippery surfaces.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education:  High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-year experience in the Fresh Meats industry required or other QA type experience preferred.
• Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Special Skills: Must be able to complete Tyson paperwork; ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce; good problem identification and problem-solving skills; math and organizational skills; ability to read and interpret product specifications; must function well under stress; must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
• Physical Requirements: Position involves heavy lifting (70 lbs. or more).

Preference given to internal qualified candidates currently employed at this facility followed by candidates from other Tyson facilities then external candidates.
