Job Purpose:
The Technical Safety Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive safety assessments, analyses, and risk evaluations across various engineering projects within the oil and gas sector. This role encompasses a wide range of safety studies, including HAZOP, QRA, and fire and explosion analysis, to ensure that all engineering designs meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
The Technical Safety Specialist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify hazards, mitigate risks, and implement safety measures, playing a crucial role in safeguarding personnel, assets, and the environment throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Accountabilities:
Reporting to Engineering, he/she will be responsible for providing engineering support in Technical Safety in engineering studies and project execution. Responsible for providing coaching for junior engineers from the Client.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering (Safety, Chemical, Mechanical, or related field).
- Relevant certifications in safety engineering or risk management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
Experience:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in technical safety within the oil and gas especially in E&P environment, with a strong background in safety assessments and risk analysis.
- Proven experience in leading safety studies and managing safety-related projects from conception through execution.
- Proficiency in safety management software and risk assessment tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO) and regulations related to safety engineering.
