THE JOB
The Senior Finance Director will serve as the finance leader responsible for all financial reporting, accounting oversight, internal controls, and financial compliance activities for SD Concerts. This role partners closely with executive leadership and operational teams to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting while providing strategic insights that support business performance and growth.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
- Lead the monthly forecasting process, providing guidance to SD Concerts business leaders on event forecasts, phasing, and key planning assumptions.
- Lead efforts to optimize accounting systems, including ERP systems, tools, and workflows to increase efficiency and improve data quality and accessibility.
- Prepare and deliver internal dashboards and analysis for senior management.
- Own the annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning, partnering with business leaders to align financial plans with strategic objectives.
- Consolidate financial results, operational metrics, and P&L activity, delivering variance analysis and actionable insights to senior leadership across forecast, budget, and prior year performance.
- Build and maintain sophisticated financial models that support strategic planning, business cases, investment decisions, and resource allocation.
- Prepare executive reporting packages, dashboards, and ad hoc financial analyses to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Support long-term strategic planning, financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes while continuously improving forecast accuracy and financial visibility.
- Oversee cash flow planning and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and strong financial controls.
- Partner with senior leadership to strengthen the financial infrastructure, processes, and reporting capabilities required to support continued growth.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and reporting enhancements that increase efficiency and improve financial decision-making.
- Leverage financial systems and reporting tools, including Oracle, Excel, BPC, Business Objects, and other analytics platforms to analyze large data sets and generate meaningful business insights.
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members through coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Finance or related field
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Exceptional analytical problem solving and data modeling experience. Experience in applying these skills to resolve operational performance problems is a plus.
- ERP experience, preferably Oracle, but equivalent is sufficient
- Ability to work flexible hours in support of the business.
- Detail oriented, with a desire to understand every aspect of the business.
- Ability to interact with senior executives and management.
- Ability to solve problems by gathering information, discussing options and making recommendations.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish; written and verbal.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities and effectively meet critical deadlines.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; should be an advanced user with experience linking multiple worksheets and external databases, using pivot tables, and writing nested functions.
- Experience with data mining and/or statistical analysis tools (Business Objects, BPC, etc.) is a plus.
