Description
These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of two (2) years of college coursework in Recreation Administration, Physical Education, or a related area; two (2) years of experience in developing and conducting aquatics programs, or a related area; and one (1) year of supervisory experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess certification as a Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) from the American Red Cross, before employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment.
- Must possess certification as a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) from the National Swimming Pool Foundations, OR Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) from the National Recreation and Park Association before employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
- Must possess Standard First Aid and Community CPR certifications, or other certifications which incorporate Standard First Aid and Infant, Child and Adult CPR, within ninety (90) days of employment, and maintain certifications for the duration of employment in this position
- Must possess certification as an Aquatics Instructor from a Nationally Accredited Association before employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
