The Medical Radiation Technologist is a valued member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing professional diagnostic imaging services and expertise to support high-quality, patient-centred care. Working collaboratively with physicians, staff, patients, and external partners, the Medical Radiation Technologist delivers safe, accurate, and compassionate care while ensuring exceptional service to internal and external customers.What you'll be doing
The Medical Radiation Technologist provides patient-focused care and high-quality diagnostic imaging services in Computed Tomography (CT) and Radiography to support patient diagnosis and treatment at Southlake Health and affiliated sites, including, but not limited to, the Georgina Health Centre. The role requires the application of technical expertise and clinical judgment to evaluate image quality, manipulate digital images for interpretation and archival, and ensure the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation in compliance with the Healing Arts Radiation Protection Act (HARP). The Medical Radiation Technologist continually assesses patients throughout procedures, monitors for potential complications or contrast reactions, and initiates appropriate interventions when required. The role also includes operating and troubleshooting medical imaging and ancillary equipment to ensure safe and effective performance, assisting Radiologists during procedures, and performing cross-functional duties and other responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge of radiation, Health and Safety Regulations

Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and previous experience in CT (may include clinical placement)
Safety awareness, including radiation safety

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
Diploma or Degree in Medical Radiation Sciences, Radiography from an accredited educational institution
CMRITO mandatory, MRT (R)
OAMRS highly recommended
Completion of the Intravenous Therapy (IV) – Online Training course and the Central Venous Access Devices – Online Training course through Southlake’s On-line Learning System (SOLs), or plans to complete
Maintains current CPR certification
