Te tūranga – The role
We are recruiting for a Legal Counsel (Legislation) or Senior Legal Counsel (Legislation) to join our busy Legal Services Directorate. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel (Legislation), you will provide expert legal advice. You will enjoy engaging with the legal, policy, and operational teams at the Reserve Bank to deliver results.

To be successful in this role you will have:
a proven ability to provide high quality and robust legal advice,
an interest in financial regulation,
high quality written and oral presentation and communication skills,
the ability to build and maintain strong relationships to work in partnership with our policy and operational teams and with external lawyers, as required.
You must be eligible to hold a current New Zealand legal practising certificate.

The anticipated appointment range for the Legal Counsel (Legislation) role is $107,320 to $125,206 and for the Senior Legal Counsel (Legislation) role is $149,338 to $174,228 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
