Overview
JUNIOR DATA ENGINEER (TCE)
Bowhead seeks a Junior Data Engineer to join our Science and Technology (S&T) division for the Tactical Communications and Electromagnetic Warfare (TCE) contract in Stafford, VA. The Junior Data Engineer will be providing integration, interoperability and Science and Technology (S&T) recommendations to address United States Marine Corps requirements and gaps in capabilities.
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
Support the capture, analysis, and translation of operational and customer requirements into potential technical solutions, S&T initiatives, and technology insertion opportunities.
Support technical trade studies and engineering assessments to evaluate alternative technologies, integration approaches, technical maturity, risks, benefits, and applicability to existing or future TCE capabilities.
Use appropriate techniques, processes, procedures, and management tools to design and develop strategic operation plans and S&T Roadmaps, outputs of which are not limited to Business Processes and Workflows, Business Cases Knowledge Management processes and tools, and Capabilities Based Portfolio Analysis.
Support system architecture analyses and integration planning activities to assess the technical feasibility and interoperability of emerging technologies within existing TCE systems and architectures.
Deliver a high- level summary of capabilities, and identify the risks and shortfalls associated with the strategic and technology insertions into existing programs.
Assist with development and updates to strategic documents.
Perform appropriate tasks, functions, and analysis in support of objective team execution and any program review preparation and execution.
- Provide analytical support in any of the following disciplines: engineering, science, business, financial, cost, or program management, to include analysis, design, development, testing, integration, logistics, program management, cost, financial, or management analysis, or maintenance of systems, processes, programs, offices or products.
- Develop and/or review acquisition documentation, program reports, papers, drawings, specifications, and procedures.
Candidate must have working Knowledge of:
Department of Defense (DoD) and Marine Corps policies related to acquisition analysis and planning and management support, not limited to DoD Instruction 5000.02, Adaptive Acquisition Framework and the Marine Corps Systems Command Acquisition Guidebook
Abbreviated Acquisition Programs (AAP), Acquisition Category (ACAT) programs, Middle Tier Acquisitions (MTA) and Other Transaction Authority (OTA)
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in engineering, science, technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Two to four (2-4) years of professional experience.
- Intermediate knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite (ie. MS Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Experience supporting government or military environments is highly desired.
Targeted salary range is $75,000 to $90,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
