##
Company:
Qualcomm Intl Inc., Mexico Branch Office
## Job Area:
Information Technology Group, Information Technology Group > IT Engineering
General Summary:
As a software developer in the Qualcomm IT Operations Management Team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining full-stack applications in the observability and AI-driven operations space. Your expertise in Golang, Python, and Java will be crucial in building robust and scalable software solutions — including agentic AI systems that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) to automate incident response, root cause analysis, and operational intelligence. The position also includes supporting internal stakeholders with their observability platform needs, including onboarding, instrumentation, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will contribute to the adoption of open standards such as OpenTelemetry (OTEL) to modernize and future-proof our telemetry pipeline. The role requires knowledge across different systems including coding, database, continuous delivery and deployment, and modern AI/ML frameworks.
This position will:
- Develop and maintain full-stack applications using Python, Golang, and Java.
- Design, build, and iterate on agentic AI workflows powered by LLMs, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool-use orchestration, and chain-of-thought reasoning for SRE automation.
- Contribute to the development and scaling of Qualcomm's agentic SRE platform, integrating observability data with AI-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement new features.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance.
- Drive the evaluation and implementation of OpenTelemetry (OTEL) for standardized telemetry collection, helping transition from vendor-specific instrumentation to open, portable observability.
- Maintain code quality and organization through best practices and code reviews.
- Address production issues and provide Tier 3 on-call support.
- Support internal stakeholders with their observability platform needs, including onboarding, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and ongoing optimization of monitoring solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends in AI/ML, LLM frameworks, agentic architectures, and observability technologies.
Technologies we use:
- Languages: Python, Golang, Java, JavaScript
- AI/ML: LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI), LangChain/LangGraph, RAG frameworks, vector databases, prompt engineering
- Task management: JIRA
- Version control: Git, GitHub
- Deployments: Jenkins, Bash, Amazon Web Services, Docker
- Observability: Datadog, OpenTelemetry (OTEL)
Required for this position:
- BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role in large business environments.
- Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design.
- Proficiency in Golang, Python, and Java.
- Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web frameworks like Flask.
- Experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, reliability engineering, and telemetry optimization using Datadog or similar observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and practical experience building applications that integrate LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted automation.
- Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
- Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and web servers (e.g., Nginx).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work with global teams across time zones.
Preferred qualifications:
- Hands-on experience developing agentic AI systems — including multi-step tool-use orchestration, RAG pipelines, vector search, and chain-of-thought reasoning using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or similar.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry (OTEL) — including instrumentation, collector configuration, and integration with observability backends.
- Interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Systematic problem-solving approach coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex technical environment.
- Self-starter attitude and the ability to make decisions independently.
- AWS DevOps Professional certification
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate
- AWS Developer Associate
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
OR
5+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
