Job Summary: Under supervision of the Dining Director and Culinary Supervisor, Dishwashers are responsible for cleaning and organizing all tableware and cookware in their respective places in the kitchen. 


Successful candidates will be motivated by customer service and focused on a pleasant, high-quality dining experience for all residents and guests.


Schedule Considerations: Weekends and holidays, as scheduled and/or as needed. The kitchen is open 6a-7p, 7 days per week/365 days per year. 


Compensation: $19.00/hour

ALL employees eligible to participate in Tax-Deferred Annuity Retirement Plan and SEP IRA Pension plan (after 3 years of employment).

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20+ hrs/wk are eligible for Leave Sharing and employer-paid Group Life and AD&D.

Requirements

Typical job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate dish machine to efficiently clean and sanitize all tableware, including glassware and flatware;
  • Clean pots and pans by hand in three-compartment sink;
  • Maintain cleanliness in accordance with Longview policy and procedures and local, state, and federal rules and regulations;
  • Deliver trays to residents in their apartments;
  • Regularly inspect and report any malfunctions regarding cleaning equipment and dishwasher functionality;
  • Ensure clean dishes are stored in designated areas;
  • Monitor cleaning supplies stock and replace items as needed;
  • Dispose of kitchen garbage and recycling after each meal;
  • Perform duties in a timely manner and within approved time frames;
  • Deliver exemplary customer service, exhibiting professionalism, honesty, and respect;
  • Maintain a positive attitude;
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all coworkers, supervisors, residents, and other stakeholders;
  • Communicate any schedule changes at least 2 weeks in advance to the Food Service Manager or Dining Service Coordinator to ensure necessary coverage for meals;
  • Complete mandatory training and/or routine training per Longview policy (ie HIPAA, Abuse Prevention and Intervention, Residents' Rights, Ethics, Dementia, Emergency Preparedness, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by lead server, cook, coordinator, and/or director.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age;
  • Able to push, pull, lift, and carry tables, heavy boxes, trays of food, and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds;
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, frequently bending, stooping, and reaching;
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment at times;
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and with empathy to build rapport and achieve high quality of service;
  • Basic knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to food service cleanliness as it relates to position;
  • Must be able to use a computer or mobile device, with or without reasonable accommodation, to access timecard system, retrieve important notifications, and complete ongoing staff education;
  • Satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment physical required.
