Painter/Finisher - Temporary
Ontic is a leading global aerospace OEM trusted by the world’s aviation leaders. With over 1,300 employees across four time zones and seven sites, we have more than doubled in size since 2019 and continue to grow at pace.
Our team is looking for a Temporary Painter/Finisher to join them at our Creedmoor, North Carolina facility. This position will have an onsite work structure and is available to start immediately.
This temporary opportunity is being added to support current business demand, team leave coverage, and continued growth at our Creedmoor site. The assignment is currently anticipated to continue through the end of 2026, with the possibility of extending beyond that timeframe based on ongoing business needs.
As a Painter/Finisher, you will support a variety of finishing operations, including masking, spray painting, conformal coating, piece marking, encapsulation, and chemical finishing. You will work in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment where quality, safety, attention to detail, and the flexibility to adjust priorities are essential.
To be considered for the Painter/Finisher opening, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 5+ years of spray-painting experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work safely and consistently follow Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) requirements.
- Ability to remain flexible and adjust priorities to support urgent production requirements.
- NADCAP experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Strong hand-eye coordination, steady hands, and the ability to safely operate applicable shop equipment.
- Ability to distinguish colors and read a minimum 8-point font.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
As a Painter/Finisher, you will:
- Perform spray painting and other finishing operations in accordance with applicable work instructions and specifications.
- Perform masking and preparation activities required for finishing operations.
- Apply conformal coatings as required by product and process specifications.
- Perform piece marking, encapsulation, and chemical finishing activities.
- Read and follow blueprints, specifications, work instructions, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Inspect work for accuracy, workmanship, and conformance to applicable requirements.
- Safely operate applicable tools and shop equipment.
- Follow all applicable quality, safety, environmental, and manufacturing procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Remain flexible to support changing production priorities, including urgent or high-priority jobs as business needs require.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other team members to support production schedules and customer commitments.

This position requires access to information that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of the ITAR. A U.S. person includes a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
This is a temporary, onsite position based in Creedmoor, North Carolina. The assignment is currently anticipated to continue through the end of 2026, with the potential for extension based on business demand.
