Why this role matters

We are seeking a Quality lead - Mechanical to ensure the quality and compliance of civil works within the project. In this role as a Quality Lead- Mechanical you have to Provide core quality management support services for mechanical works throughout the delivery phase of projects, which include, amongst others, quality assurance, process management, governance, competence, and quality control for mechanical equipment, piping, assemblies and installation activities.

 

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will:

• Acting as the source of best practice on all aspects of Quality Management for mechanical construction and installation activities
• Prepare and maintain the discipline Quality Plan, inspection and test plans and quality checklists for mechanical works
• Review and approval of inspection and test plans, method statements and relevant quality documentation from mechanical suppliers and subcontractors.
• Maintenance of mechanical quality documentation, inspection records, certificates, test results and installation quality records.
• Provide expert opinion on and maintain the register of Quality issues related to mechanical equipment, cabling, earthing, terminations, testing and installation activities
• Develop corrective action plans as required
• Participate in Quality reviews and produce Quality reports as required
• Perform Quality checks on mechanical works at the project site and at sub suppliers, including equipment installation, cable routing, terminations, earthing, identification and required testing as applicable
• Ensure sufficient resources are in place to deliver effective quality management in the project
• Manage a team of Mechanical inspectors to implement the Quality control Procedure

What you’ll bring

Experience and qualifications

• University Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
• At least 7 years’ experience in Quality management, including Mechanical construction QA/QC
• Working experience in a construction project environment in a Quality role with responsibility for Mechanical works
• Preferably experience in process management, inspection, site construction, materials testing and Mechanical installation activities
• Experience in the development and implementation of project QA/QC plans, inspection and test plans and Mechanical quality records
