Job Description

We are seeking an experienced credit professional to join our investment team at Ares Insurance Solutions. The successful candidate will support the sourcing, underwriting, execution, and ongoing monitoring of fixed income and private credit investments across corporate, leveraged finance, direct lending, and structured credit opportunities. This role will play an integral part in the investment process, working closely with senior investment professionals to evaluate opportunities, prepare investment recommendations, and monitor portfolio performance.

In addition, the individual will support the firm's strategic investments in credit origination platforms and lending partnerships, helping assess platform economics, underwriting capabilities, portfolio performance, and long-term growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Underwriting & Due Diligence

  • Conduct detailed fundamental credit analysis of prospective investments, including leveraged loans, direct lending transactions, private placements, and other corporate credit opportunities
  • Evaluate issuer financial performance, capital structure, cash flow generation, industry dynamics, management quality, and downside risk scenarios
  • Participate in due diligence meetings with borrowers, sponsors, lenders, and external advisors
  • Prepare comprehensive investment memoranda and credit recommendations for internal investment committees
  • Assist in negotiating transaction terms, covenants, and documentation; assist in getting transactions rated
  • Structure transactions and coordinate with rating agencies to get investments rated
  • Monitor existing investments through ongoing review of financial performance, covenant compliance, industry developments, and credit events
  • Prepare periodic portfolio reviews and credit updates for management and investment committees
  • Support evaluation and monitoring of investments in credit origination platforms across various sectors: renewables, specialty finance, transportation, direct lending

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in credit analysis, leveraged finance, direct lending, private credit, investment management, banking, or related fields
  • Strong understanding of corporate credit fundamentals, financial statement analysis, and credit underwriting
  • Experience preparing investment committee memoranda and presenting investment recommendations
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$225,000.00 - $250,000.00
