Overview
QuarterLine (QL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Referral Management Center Specialist to support our healthcare team at a Military Treatment Facility (MTF). The ideal candidate will provide professional customer service while assisting patients and staff with referral and appointment coordination.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls and assist patients and staff with referral-related questions.
- Review and process referrals for completeness and eligibility.
- Schedule and reschedule specialty appointments according to MTF guidelines.
- Process routine, urgent, and emergent referrals within established timeframes.
- Coordinate referrals with outside providers or insurance when services are not available at the MTF.
- Maintain accurate referral documentation in MHS GENESIS and other required systems.
- Educate patients on referral procedures, appointments, and expected timelines.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Minimum Requirements
- US Citizen.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- One (1) year of administrative experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting. Referral management, medical scheduling, patient administration, or insurance verification preferred.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency and keyboarding sufficient to sustain electronic health record workflow.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation, a Common Access Card, and MTF-specific badge and system access.
- Current Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross) where required by the supported MTF, plus HIPAA, Privacy Act, information assurance, and MTF-directed initial and annual training.

- Must pass TB Test.

- Willingness to comply with DHA vaccination requirements.

- Contract workers shall maintain good personal hygiene and present a well-groomed and professional appearance IAW the policy at the place of performance.
