FOX Entertainment Global (FEG) is FOX Entertainment's centralized content sales division, providing the worldwide multi-platform marketplace with exclusive access to its diverse, rapidly expanding production pipeline and library of owned original programming and co-production partnerships. A central component of FOX Entertainment's long-term growth strategy is to fortify its globally recognized, world-class brand and owned distribution platforms spanning broadcast and streaming with FOX Entertainment Global's singular focus on broadly distributing the company's full portfolio of owned intellectual property across all genres of scripted, unscripted, and animated programming, including both film and television titles.
FOX Entertainment is seeking a Manager, Business & Legal Affairs to serve as a hands-on attorney supporting FEG.
Regular, on-site attendance at the workplace for a minimum of four (4) days per week is an essential function of the position. The selected candidate must be able to reliably meet this requirement.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements as assigned, across all media windows (Network, Pay Cable, Pay TV, FAST, AVOD, SVOD, TVOD, EST, and digital platforms), possibly including distribution agreements, tape license agreements, format license agreements, amendments, non-disclosure agreements, etc.
- Conduct detailed contract analysis and rights research to confirm underlying rights, holdbacks, exclusivity, windowing, territorial restrictions to prevent rights conflicts
- Field day-to-day legal inquiries from internal stakeholders (Sales, Deal & Rights Management, Marketing, Digital, Publicity) and legal team
- Compile, manage, interpret and synthesize advertising & edit restrictions and disseminate to Operations for exploitation of programming
- Maintain accuracy of deal tracker and ensure agreements are being assigned and processed in a timely manner
- Handle general corporate issues as assigned and support the legal with any special projects that may arise from time-to-times
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active bar admission in good standing (California Bar or Registered In-House Counsel preferred)
- 2+ years of attorney experience in entertainment transactional law, preferably within a television studio, network, media distributor, streaming platform, or entertainment law firm
- Equal proficiency in contract drafting and rights research, with demonstrated experience reviewing license agreements, and distribution terms
- High precision and attention to detail when analyzing contracts, including specific language, rights, holdbacks, exclusivity, etc.
- Working knowledge of media distribution
- Excellent time management and self-motivation, with a proven ability to prioritize assignments and manage a high volume of active deals in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of personnel and cross-functional departments
NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
- Hands-on experience navigating rights management systems and databases (e.g., Rightsline, Salesforce)
- Familiarity with international television licensing, international format rights, or foreign distribution nuances
- Direct background working with rights management, content operations, or marketing teams within a content sales organization)

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $92,000.00-105,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
