Target Start Date: ASAP - by Sept 28th
Duration: 6 months
Target rate range: $85-100hr B2B
Potential for this contract to be extended or converted to FTE? Extension: Yes / Conversion: YES FTE is the goal
Hybrid: 1 days per week in office. Wednesday, plus 1st Friday of each month
Office Location: 81 Bay Street Toronto

Reason the role is open?: Net new contingent resource required to support ongoing cloud platform engineering initiatives and increased demand for scalable, secure, and automated Azure platform capabilities
What project will this contractor be working on?: The contractor will support the design, build, and enhancement of Azure-based platform services, focusing on infrastructure automation, Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD modernization, observability improvements, and cloud-native application enablement, including support for emerging AI and GenAI use cases.

Job Description:
The Senior Platform Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting reusable cloud platform capabilities in Azure. This role focuses on enabling cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices, and emerging AI workloads through infrastructure automation, platform standardization, and engineering best practices.
The successful candidate will have strong experience with Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Python scripting, observability, and secure platform design. They will partner closely with engineering, architecture, security, and delivery teams to create scalable, resilient, and automated platform solutions while continuously improving deployment and operational processes.
Must Have Requirement:
8+ Years total experience
Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering.
Designing and supporting Azure cloud environments.
Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
Kubernetes and Docker container platforms.
CI/CD pipeline development and optimization.
Automation scripting using Python.
Cloud platform operations, scalability, resiliency, and security.
Monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
Authentication, authorization, and access control implementation.
Nice to Have:
Experience supporting GenAI, AI/ML, or RAG platforms.
Azure API Management (APIM).
Bash scripting.
Databricks.
Experience building reusable enterprise platform services.
Financial services or banking experience.
Soft Skills:
