What our Veterinary Technicians and Assistants Do
As a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant, you’ll work alongside our veterinarians and support team to provide compassionate, efficient care for our patients and clients.
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and relevant medical information
- Safely handle and restrain patients using Fear Free and low-stress techniques
- Assist with diagnostic testing and sample collection based on your experience and training
- Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as permitted by your role, training, and applicable regulations
- Assist with surgical and dental procedures based on your experience and credentials
- Provide attentive and compassionate patient care and monitoring
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients about their pets’ care
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient medical records
- Keep treatment and patient-care areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for the day
- Anticipate the needs of our veterinarians and teammates to promote efficiency and teamwork
- Jump in wherever needed to support patients, clients, and coworkers
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who combines veterinary skills with compassion, dependability, curiosity, and a team-first attitude.
- Previous veterinary experience appropriate to the Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant role
- Veterinary Technician credentials are welcome but not required for Veterinary Assistant candidates
- A genuine passion for pets and veterinary care

- Interest in or experience with Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques
- Strong communication and client-service skills
- Dependability and a strong work ethic
