POSITION SUMMARY
The Parts & Service Associate is responsible for building and packaging service kits and fulfilling parts orders in support of CVG’s aftermarket seating operations at the Piedmont, AL facility. This role works closely with the production and service team to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality preparation of parts and kits for shipment to customers. The ideal associate is detail-oriented, a quick learner, and committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Parts & Service Kit Assembly
Build service kits by identifying specific parts and part numbers per the Bill of Materials list.
Perform packaging tasks for shipment of kits to customers, including shrink wrapping.
Perform and document tasks as outlined in process work instruction sheets.
Perform inspections as outlined in Inspection Instruction sheets.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Adhere to all established safety policies, procedures, and practices; wear required PPE including safety-toed shoes at all times.
Sustain 5S and lean manufacturing philosophy and culture throughout the work area.
Analyze, audit, and inspect the work area to identify opportunities for improvement.
Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
Teamwork & Customer Service
Provide good customer service to all customers, both internal and external.
Demonstrate teamwork by collaborating with others to improve overall standards of performance, service, safety, and quality.
Cooperate with Team Leaders, Supervisors, and Managers; communicate in a positive, professional manner.
Support the organization’s goals, values, and continuous improvement efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned by Team Leader, Supervisor, and/or Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
Prior experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or parts fulfillment environment.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and 5S practices.
Experience in a seating, automotive, or commercial vehicle parts environment.
A reliable, detail-oriented team player who takes pride in accuracy, maintains a positive attitude, and is motivated by contributing to a high-performing service operation.
Ability to identify specific parts and part numbers and accurately follow a Bill of Materials list.
Must have neat, easily legible handwriting and basic computer skills.
Ability to learn multiple jobs quickly and become proficient in each.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend or stoop frequently, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Good hand-eye coordination; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to wear safety-toed shoes at all times (required).
Ability to work overtime and on Saturdays as needed.
