As a Process Engineer you will design, specify, and implement materials processes for a wide range of fabricated products. In addition, improve and develop manufacturing tooling and techniques required to make these products. Both efforts will be directed toward reducing manufacturing costs, and precious metal working margins, while improving internal and external product quality.
Technical responsibility for several product types across manufacturing departments as assigned by the Operations team. Products may range from standard items manufactured in continuous stream, to one-piece, one-time only orders. Incumbent will interface with Operations, Quality Assurance, and Scheduling daily. Work with Marketing and consult with customers and vendors as required by product responsibilities.
The Role:
As a Process Engineer, you will help drive our goals by:
- Develop material and processing parameters to achieve desired end-product properties and attributes based upon end customer specifications.
- Improve process efficiencies and metal working margins in assigned production areas. Establish improved process monitoring and control to provide consistent quality product.
- Provide technical support for ongoing manufacturing operations within area of responsibility.
- Design, specify and implement materials and processes for the product areas assigned.
- Develop and trial new processes to enable the manufacturing of products as requested by sales team.
- Train hourly work force as necessary to properly operate equipment and produce products in selected areas.
- Provides technical input into process hazard studies, capital projects, and incident investigations along with technical support to the site.
Key Skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- BS degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering or related field.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of metal forming processes associated with manufacture of tube, wire and sheet product a plus is highly desirable
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Problem Solving, and Continuous Improvement
- Ability to communicate passionately and effectively about the process and impact the culture in a positive way
