Location Type: The position is onsite in Nashville, TN.
Role Overview:
Bring precision, craftsmanship, and experience to life as a Machinist with JR Automation in Nashville, TN. In this hands‑on role, you’ll play a critical part in building custom automation solutions, working primarily with manual machining alongside CNC operations. This is an opportunity for someone who takes pride in quality, accuracy, and problem‑solving to make a real impact in an engineering‑driven, collaborative environment where no two projects are the same.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
This role consists of approximately 80% manual machining and 20% CNC work
Perform manual machining operations with a high degree of accuracy
Program conversational controllers; familiarity with Acu-Rite MILLPWR G2 and EZTRACK
Interpret and manipulate 2D CAD files and import DXF files for machining processes
Collaborate with internal teams to confirm critical fixture setups, including orientation and dimensions
Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety standards
Demonstrated experience as a Manual Machinist, with exposure to CNC machining
Strong understanding of machining principles and precision measurement tools
Knowledge of CMM and GD&T preferred
Ability to inspect and confirm critical dimensions independently
Clearly communicate potential quality issues to management

What You’ll Bring:
5+ years of prior machining experience
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational school preferred
Journeyman machinist preferred
