Your Role:
Laboratory Operations and Equipment Specialist
As a Laboratory Operations and Equipment Specialist, you will provide laboratory documentation and record-management support to the Fort Dodge Research and Development (R&D) department and supporting functions. You will focus on maintaining accurate equipment records, coordinating controlled document updates in the Veeva Quality System, supporting computer system validation documentation, and assisting with R&D laboratory operations. This role supports documentation and information management; it does not own facilities maintenance, equipment calibration, capital projects, or infrastructure activities.
Your Responsibilities:
- Maintain laboratory equipment records and inventories by adding new equipment information, reconciling existing records, and documenting identified discrepancies.
- Perform physical inventory checks and update approved equipment management systems with accurate record information.
- Edit and coordinate laboratory equipment Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the Veeva Quality System to reflect Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), change controls, and other quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with document owners and laboratory teams to reconcile annotations, complete document updates, and support timely document effectiveness.
- Review equipment documentation for completeness against established requirements and support computer system validation records and other R&D laboratory documentation assignments.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree with at least 2 years of relevant document management experience.
- Experience using an electronic document management or quality management system to edit, coordinate, and maintain documents.
- Ability to write clear, easy-to-understand procedures, with strong organizational, planning, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
- Experience using the Veeva Quality System.
- Experience supporting computer system validation documentation.
- Experience working with Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), change controls, quality initiatives, or gap assessments.
- Experience maintaining documentation related to laboratory equipment, including maintenance, calibration, or verification records, without direct responsibility for performing or coordinating the technical work.
- Experience reconciling physical inventories and resolving equipment or documentation discrepancies.
