Work With The Best
We are building the premier outdoor living company in the country by creating a “family of family companies” across the nation. Now you can build your landscaping career with the best, working in one of our many company locations nationwide. Learn from the top experts in the field and work on some of the country’s largest and most complex landscape projects. Take advantage of opportunities to share and exchange best practices across our network. The opportunities are endless.
Position Overview:
Eschenfelder Landscape seeks a detail-oriented Pool Construction Estimator to lead the pricing and pre-construction process for our custom pool and outdoor living projects. As part of a company built on craftsmanship and an unwavering commitment to perfection, you will translate design intent into accurate, competitive estimates that protect both our clients' investment and Eschenfelder's reputation for excellence. This role works closely with designers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure every pool project is scoped, priced, and set up for success from the very first proposal.
Responsibilities and Duties
Review architectural and landscape design plans, pool drawings, and specifications with designers and engineers to develop comprehensive, accurate cost estimates for custom pool and outdoor living construction projects.
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for excavation, concrete, gunite/shotcrete, plumbing, electrical, decking, coping, tile, water features, and related site work.
Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining strong relationships with trade partners to ensure competitive and reliable bids.
Prepare detailed proposals, budgets, and change order estimates using standard company templates and estimating software.
Manage the permitting process for pool construction projects, including preparing and submitting permit applications and navigating the varying requirements and systems of multiple municipalities.
Collaborate with designers and sales team members during the pre-construction phase to refine scope, identify value-engineering opportunities, and ensure designs are buildable within budget.
Attend client meetings and site walks as needed to clarify project scope and answer budget-related questions.
Track material and labor costs, market trends, and historical project data to continuously refine estimating accuracy.
Coordinate with Project Managers during the transition from estimate to construction to ensure a clear and accurate handoff of scope, budget, and client expectations.
Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, vendor pricing, and project documentation.
Stay current on pool construction methods, materials, permitting requirements, and industry regulations to ensure estimates reflect current best practices and code requirements.
Identify and communicate potential risks, long-lead items, or site conditions that may impact project cost or schedule.
Support the sales process by providing timely, well-documented estimates that help close new business while protecting project margins.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience estimating pool construction, custom masonry, or high-end residential construction projects; pool industry experience strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of pool construction methods, site work, and outdoor living construction sequencing.
Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software, as well as Microsoft Excel; experience with CAD or design software a plus.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.

Comfortable managing multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-end residential environment.
