The Group Facilitator assists the Clinical Team in delivering assigned treatment services by providing educational programming, facilitating group discussions, monitoring client participation, and fostering a therapeutic environment. This position plays a vital role in helping clients develop skills, increase understanding, and progress toward their treatment goals while ensuring services are documented accurately and delivered professionally.

Key Responsibilities: 

· Facilitate educational and therapeutic group sessions using approved curriculum and materials 

· Create a safe, supportive, respectful, and culturally responsive environment that promotes learning and participation 

· Engage clients in meaningful discussions that support treatment goals and recovery progress 

· Evaluate and communicate client participation, engagement, and progress to members of the treatment team 

· Document attendance, participation levels, group summaries, and services provided within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system 

· Maintain accurate and timely documentation that reflects services delivered, client responses, and treatment needs 

· Collaborate with clinical staff to support continuity of care and positive client outcomes 

· Participate in required training and professional development opportunities related to adult education and group facilitation 

· Monitor client wellbeing and promptly communicate safety concerns or potential risks to appropriate supervisory staff 

· Adhere to agency policies, procedures, and professional standards 

· Maintain regular and reliable attendance 

· Perform other duties as assigned 

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications: 

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Psychiatric Nursing, or a closely related field 

OR 

· High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) with a minimum of two (2) years of responsible employment experience 

· Employees in this position may be required to apply for the Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC) credential 

Additional Qualifications: 

· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in group and public settings 

· Strong presentation, facilitation, and adult education skills 

· Ability to interpret and present clinical information in a clear and understandable manner 

· Promote positive morale through a supportive, professional, and collaborative approach with clients and coworkers 

· Demonstrate initiative, creativity, and innovation to enhance client outcomes and operational effectiveness 

· Display sensitivity, professionalism, and respect when working with clients, families, and colleagues 

· Successful completion of background screenings, including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks 

· Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required 

· Class E Driver's License may be required 

· Current CPR/First Aid certification may be required 

· Must respect and maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of client treatment 

· Employees are required to maintain all certifications and licenses held at hire or obtained during employment 

· Must attain any required credentials or certifications associated with the position as required by the agency 

Physical Requirements 

· Perform sedentary work requiring exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally 

· Frequently use hands, fingers, and arms for typing, writing, and computer-related tasks 

· Remain seated for extended periods throughout the workday 

· Occasionally walk or stand for brief periods as needed to perform job duties 

· Lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move light objects as required
