As the Head of NAB Bereavement services, you play a pivotal role in realising NAB’s vision to be the most customer-centric company in Australia and New Zealand. Your leadership is instrumental in driving our vision, fostering a supportive, growth-oriented culture underpinned by continuous improvement through learning and development, in alignment with NAB behaviours. Your role leads a team to bring our vision to life by:

•Leading a large operational function across the end-to-end bereavement journey, encompassing customer support, case management, fulfilment, and ongoing servicing activities.

•Enabling a supportive, growth-oriented culture that helps colleagues unlock their potential and achieve peak performance, underpinned by Distinctive Leadership principles.

•Driving a culture of continuous learning and personal development through coaching, guided and self-directed training, effective goal setting, and performance management.

•Leading teams to consistently meet performance standards while delivering exceptional colleague engagement and customer experiences.

•Managing significant escalations, complex customer matters, operational queries, and technical issues as required.

Essential capabilities

•Proven Leadership skills of a large operational function

•Strategic thinking and agility with strong ability to problem solve and make decisions that support strategy

•Commercial acumen – balances cost and productivity opportunities against customer and colleague outcomes

•Outsourced provider engagement and management

•Strong stakeholder management, including the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders through written and verbal communication

•Experience and understanding of NAB systems

Experience

•10+ years experience in banking or financial services, with at least 6+ years in an operations , other banking/finance, credit risk or quality assurance teams.

•6+ years of direct and indirect people leadership

•Building strong relationships that drive strategic priorities

•Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, drive cultural change, employee engagement and capability

•Experience leading large operational teams and/or change programs that embed new systems or processes, operational improvement delivering key productivity and financial targets

Qualification Requirements

•Diploma of Management (preferred), Tertiary qualification in a business discipline desirable

•Distinctive Leadership required

•CQIB desirable
