Description
Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal AI Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and development of a cutting-edge agentic framework and centralized AI platform that serves as the foundation for the organization's AI initiatives. As the technical lead for the Risk Adjustment (RA) Coding Agent, you will own the end-to-end technical architecture—from clinical NLP integration and production routing to core AI platform components that enable scalable, secure, and compliant AI solutions across clinical use cases. You will design advanced clinical AI capabilities, including evidence classifiers, structured clinical evidence graphs, and deterministic policy engines that produce explainable, auditable decisions in a CMS-regulated environment. Working closely with Data Scientists, MLOps Engineers, Data Engineers, and Product Engineering teams, you will establish foundational architecture, mentor engineering teams, and drive the technical vision, governance, and evaluation frameworks that ensure platform scalability, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable agentic solutions for diverse use cases
- Leverage a broad stack of Open-Source AI technologies to build and maintain a centralized AI platform with unified APIs for cross-functional team access and build various types of agents
- Work with Product Engineers to integrate AI agents into customer-facing applications and internal tools
- Lead technical discussions, mentor junior engineers, and help set the technical vision for the AI platform roadmap.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements across the software development lifecycle.
- Optimize performance of AI-powered workloads across compute and storage layers using cloud-native and open-source solutions.
- Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning to ensure platform scalability
- Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
- Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
